ICE PACK INSTRUCTIONS

Place a thin piece of material over the area of pain, lay ice pack over the material.

There will be three phases that you should feel:

COLDNESS/BURNING/NUMBNESS.

Remove the ice pack at that point as too much cold will cause more pain. Reapply ice in 45 minutes to one hour or longer, till the body temperature becomes the same as the other parts of the body. Ice should be applied 20 minutes to the spine, and decrease to other parts of the body.

ICE MASSAGE

Put a small amount of hand lotion over the area of pain, and rub an ice cube over the area of pain for the following: Spine and Hip (10 minutes) / Shoulder and Knee

(7-8 minutes) / Wrist (2-3minutes) /Elbow and Ankle (5 minutes). The three stages that you should feel:COLD/BURNING/NUMBNESS. Repeat the process in 45minutes to one hour or until the body temperature becomes normal. Keep repeating until the pain is gone and stays gone. (Remember the skin temperature must be back at normal temperature).  The pain will increase if the area gets too cold.
